Natus Vincere will meet Team Yandex in the PGL Wallachia Season 9 grand final after defeating LGD Gaming 2–1 in the lower-bracket final. NAVI lost the opening map, answered on the second and closed the deciding game to complete a long run through the elimination side of the bracket. Team Yandex reached the title series from the upper bracket and enters the best-of-five as the opponent that already beat NAVI during the group stage.

The lower-bracket final tested NAVI across three different games. LGD took the opener in under forty minutes, NAVI levelled the series on the second map, and the decider lasted close to an hour before the Ukrainian organisation secured its place in the final. The 2–1 result eliminated LGD in third place and left NAVI with another series on the same final day.

NAVI’s route began with less room for error. After dropping into the lower bracket, the team beat Nemesis, Aurora and Xtreme Gaming before earning a rematch with LGD. Each victory extended the run, but none carried forward an advantage in the grand final. Team Yandex reached the last series by defeating LGD 2–0 in the upper-bracket final and avoided the extra elimination match.

The final is also a group-stage rematch

Team Yandex defeated NAVI 2–0 when the teams met earlier in the tournament. That result provides useful evidence about the matchup, but it does not start the final at anything other than 0–0. The earlier series took place in a different bracket context and used a best-of-three format. The championship match expands to best-of-five, increasing the importance of draft depth and adjustments across maps.

The contrast in routes creates a straightforward competitive question. Team Yandex arrives through the upper bracket after a shorter path on the final weekend. NAVI arrives with momentum from repeated elimination matches but also with the workload of a three-map series against LGD earlier in the day. Neither factor guarantees an outcome; both shape the preparation window available to the teams.

PGL Wallachia Season 9 is being played in Bucharest and concludes with this series. Sixteen teams entered the event, eight advanced to the double-elimination playoffs and the grand final is the only best-of-five in the bracket. The format makes the final a broader test than the rounds that produced it, because one early draft advantage cannot end the series after two wins.

The finalists have also secured the top two placements before the first map begins. The remaining question is the championship, not qualification to another round. LGD’s third-place finish was settled by the lower-bracket result, while NAVI and Team Yandex now decide which route—survival through the lower bracket or control of the upper bracket—ends with the title.

What each route says—and does not say

NAVI’s sequence of wins shows an ability to recover after an early playoff loss. Team Yandex’s path shows that it has avoided the same elimination pressure and already solved this matchup once. Those observations are supported by the bracket. Claims about fatigue, confidence or a guaranteed draft edge would require information the results alone cannot provide.

The best guide is therefore the confirmed structure. NAVI must reverse an earlier 0–2 matchup while adapting after a demanding lower-bracket final. Team Yandex must translate its previous success into a longer series in which the opponent has more opportunities to respond. The final rewards the team that manages those adjustments across as many as five maps.
