Cake Team have won BETBOOM Streamers Battle 15 after defeating Daxak Team 3–1 in the LAN grand final. The victory completed a run that captain Kirill “Cake” Zabrodin framed as a response to low expectations: he entered the player draft with a rating of 42 and returned seriously to Dota after spending much of the year away. The title came from a full five-player lineup, not from the rating story alone.

The champions were Smiling Knight, Cake, Limitless, Shiishak and Dabex. After the final, the players left their stations calmly, embraced and shook hands with their opponents before lifting the trophy together. Cake initially struggled with its weight and received help from his teammates, a small scene that matched the collective tone of their post-match comments.

Smiling Knight said the first practice games immediately felt promising because every player wanted to win and claimed confidence across a wide hero pool. He admitted that he struggled during the first days before the group found momentum. His joke about information from Daxak’s side referred to a public controversy around overheard draft discussion, but it should not replace the confirmed sporting result.

Low expectations became motivation, not evidence

Cake said the 42-point draft evaluation pushed him to prove that he could still lead a winning team. He had previously moved to position four when a mid slot was unavailable and then stepped away from Dota for much of the year. The tournament offered a clear return point: build a roster, accept the rating and test the lineup in official matches.

A low pre-event score does not measure preparation, chemistry or improvement during a bracket. Cake Team nearly exited in the group stage during an 83-minute game, then survived and kept developing. That contrast explains the captain’s emotion more accurately than a simple underdog label. The roster learned quickly enough to turn a fragile group campaign into a LAN championship.

The final score established a clear winner, but the series did not erase Daxak Team’s run. The runner-up reached the last match with a lineup that had its own development story and received 800 thousand rubles, while Cake Team earned two million. Those figures describe placement, not the full difference between the teams.

For Cake, the more important outcome was evidence that his return could work. He credited the teammates he assembled and thanked both online viewers and people in the venue. His closing message asked supporters to back their favourites while respecting opponents, a useful counterweight to the harsher language that surrounded parts of the event.

A streamer title still rewards ordinary team work

Media tournaments mix entertainment, personal broadcasts and competitive Dota, but the winning requirements remain familiar. Players need defined roles, adaptable drafts and enough trust to recover from a bad map. Smiling Knight’s description of early scrims suggests that Cake Team found that foundation before results made it obvious.

The next question is whether the five continue together. No future event or permanent roster was confirmed in the reviewed reports. BSB 15 therefore stands as a completed achievement: a team rated modestly before the event survived its weakest moment and was strongest when the trophy was decided.

  • Cake Team won the grand final 3–1.
  • Daxak Team finished second.
  • The champions were Smiling Knight, Cake, Limitless, Shiishak and Dabex.
  • Cake described the draft rating of 42 as personal motivation.

Cake Team’s title was memorable because the route never looked automatic. A captain returning after a long break, a low draft rating and a near group-stage exit could have become excuses. Instead, the five converted them into a coherent run and finished BSB 15 with a deserved 3–1 final victory.
