Lore

Nature's Prophet stepped out of a bursting seed on the morning of the vernal equinox, fully formed, strong and wise. He was the last planting of Verodicia, Goddess of the Woods, who had given her life to make the world green. She had sown all her seeds, planted the coiled spirits, lured the waters, and sworn the sun to tend the growing things. But as her work ended, she knew she would never see the fruiting of her dream. So she found one last seed, spoke a single word into it, and swallowed it as she fell. Her body decomposed through the winter, feeding the spring seedlings. And when the forest was still asleep, that final seed burst, and from it came Nature's Prophet, carrying her foresight, able to know where he is needed to defend the green places, and any who might be lucky enough to call him ally.
