LGD Gaming and 1w Team have been eliminated from the BLAST SLAM VIII Playoffs after lower-bracket losses to Aurora Gaming and PARIVISION respectively. Both teams finished in 5th-6th place, while Aurora and PARIVISION stayed alive in the race for the title. The results reduced the field to four teams and made the lower bracket the decisive route for two sides still trying to reach the grand finals.
The two eliminations came in different kinds of series. 1w Team opened strongly against PARIVISION and won the first game, but PARIVISION recovered to take the next two games for a 2-1 reverse sweep. LGD, meanwhile, could not extend their elimination series after Aurora won both games. The distinction matters in a lower-bracket playoff: a series loss ends a team’s tournament immediately, while every winner remains under pressure to keep winning. PARIVISION’s recovery prevented 1w from completing the upset, and Aurora’s clean result removed LGD from the same side of the bracket.

Aurora close out LGD’s playoff run
Aurora Gaming’s 2-0 win over LGD was the final lower-bracket match of the playoff day. Aurora controlled the opening game with a lineup built around Lifestealer, Earth Spirit and Necrophos, then carried that advantage to a 26-14 kill lead and a 36-minute victory. LGD offered more resistance in the second game, where Aurora’s lead was tested as the match moved toward its closing stages. Aurora nevertheless held on, ending the series shortly before 52 minutes and securing the sweep. The result kept Aurora’s tournament life intact, but it did not provide any margin for error: their next lower-bracket series is another elimination test.
PARIVISION reached that same next round after turning around its meeting with 1w Team. 1w had used a productive laning start and strong teamfights to claim the 44-minute opener, with bzm’s Invoker recording 11 kills and 14 assists against three deaths. PARIVISION then levelled the series in 49 minutes before taking the deciding game in 51 minutes. Satanic was central to the recovery, posting 22 kills and five assists without a death on Anti-Mage in game two, then adding 24 kills and 14 assists on one death with Nature’s Prophet in game three. Those performances explain how PARIVISION moved from an opening-game defeat to survival.

Two routes remain open
The remaining bracket now separates into an upper-bracket final and a lower-bracket semifinal. Team Spirit have already secured at least a top-three finish after reaching the upper-bracket final, where Team Yandex stand between them and the first grand-final place. Aurora and PARIVISION meet on the lower side, with neither team able to afford a loss. The format leaves the lower-bracket winner with more work still to do after that semifinal, while the upper-bracket match determines which team reaches the grand final first.
- Aurora versus LGD, game one: Aurora won in 36 minutes with a 26-14 kill advantage. Ws recorded 12 kills and six assists on Necrophos, while Skiter contributed six kills and eight assists on Lifestealer.
- Aurora versus LGD, game two: Mikoto led Aurora with 18 kills and 18 assists on three deaths. Ws added 13 kills and 17 assists on Dragon Knight, and Skiter finished with 12 kills and 24 assists.
| Playoff match | Confirmed consequence |
|---|---|
| Team Spirit vs Team Yandex, upper-bracket final | The winner takes the first place in the BLAST SLAM VIII grand finals. |
| PARIVISION vs Aurora Gaming, lower-bracket semifinal | The winner advances to the lower-bracket final; the loser is eliminated. |
LGD Gaming and 1w Team are out, leaving Aurora Gaming and PARIVISION to contest the lower-bracket semifinal. Its winner will still need to beat the loser of Team Spirit versus Team Yandex in the lower-bracket final to claim the second grand-final berth. The immediate takeaway is simple: BLAST SLAM VIII has four teams left, but only one lower-bracket survivor can remain in contention on the final day.
